Reports explaining defence ministry attack by defence ministry and national directorate of security were rejected, President Hamid Karzai's Spokesperson said on Monday.

At National Security Council meeting defence minister and chief of Afghan spy organisation presented their investigations about the attack, President Karzai sees it incomplete and ordered a thorough pursuit of the incident, Karzai's Spokesperson Waheed Omar said addressing reporters in a conference.

He said in a weeks time when they resubmit their reports a final decision will be made concerning their positions.

Last week a man dressed in Afghan army uniform attacked defence ministry's main building and was killed in exchange of fire before detonating his suicide vest.

The attack killed two soldiers and an army officer and it was described as unprecedented since the beginning of conflict in Afghanistan.

Top officials in defence ministry believe that the attack happened with cooperation of a link from inside the ministry.

For the second time Senate House called on the defence minister to step down, mainly because of his shortfalls.

Some senators not only urged his resignation, but they say he should be brought to justice.

The attack happened as Afghanistan is going towards a decisive security transition process which is believed to be crucial to future of the country.

If things go as planned, foreign troops will begin leaving Afghanistan this year and by the end of 2014 the last Nato service member will be flown out of the country, but as military officials have emphasise, any withdrawal will be based on the conditions on the ground.
