Seven people including three civilians and a child were killed in a suicide bomb attack at Kandahar airport on Thursday afternoon, a local security official said.
The incident occurred near the airport's entrance, provincial spokesman, Zalmay Ayoubi told TOLOnews reporter.
Eight people including two civilians and two Afghan National Army soldiers were wounded in the incident, he added.
No foreign troops were reported harmed.
Security forces have rushed to the area and victims are being transported to a nearby hospital.
No group including the Taliban has as yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
The attack took place as at least 13 people, including 3 Afghan policemen, were killed, in two separate bombings in southern Helmand province on Wednesday, Afghan authorities reported on Thursday.
