At least two children were killed and four others were wounded in eastern Kapisa province on Sunday, Kapisa police said.
The incident took place in Aroki area of Kapisa province when an explosive device exploded, police said.
The victims were taken in a nearby hospital.
Improvised Explosive Devices are widely used by insurgents in Afghanistan to target Afghan and foreign forces, but the main victims are often civilians.
