
As many as 16 people were killed in a suicide attack in eastern Khost province Wednesday afternoon, local officials said.
A motorbike suicide attacker detonated his explosives near a foreign soldiers convoy in southern Khost province as 32 others were seriously wounded.
Officials from Khost hospital said that three Afghan policemen are also among the deaths.
Interior Ministry Spokesman Sediq Sediqi said that the suicide attacker targeted a joint Afghan and Isaf patrol passing through town.
No Isaf casualties were reported.
Mr. Sediqi also blamed the enemies of Afghanistan for launching such attacks as no group including Taliban has claimed responsibility of the attack yet.
Khost is one of the most troubled regions in Afghanistan where Taliban have continuously targeted Afghan and foreign soldiers.
The Haqanni network, a militant group close to Al-Qaeda was blamed for most of furious and deadly attacks on Afghan and Isaf troops.
