The commander of the North Zone Police Training Center, General Abdul Rahman Aqtash, said on Thursday that insurgents are trying to infiltrate the police.
Speaking at a graduation ceremony for more than 200 policemen, General Aqtash emphasized that the police forces are fully trained professionals who are able to face the enemies of Afghanistan.
Insurgent activity is threatening several remote districts of eastern Nangarhar province provincial police chief, Abdullah Stanikzai, said on Thursday.
Speaking at a press conference, Stanikzai said that Shirzad, Khogyani, Hesarak, Pacheragam and Chaparhar districts are facing insurgent threats.
Two Nato soldiers were killed in a bomb blast in southern Afghanistan on Thursday, Isaf said in a statement.
"Two International Security Assistance Force service members died following an improvised explosive device attack in southern Afghanistan today," the statement said.
