President Hamid Karzai has condemned Wednesday's suicide attack on Afghanistan's spy agency offices in Kabul warning insurgents that they will not achieve anything with such violence.

In a statement released by the presidential office Wednesday evening, Karzai praised the quick reaction of the National Directorate of Security staff in repelling the attack and told the insurgents that they will not achieve their aims by this means but instead will face a very strong reaction from security forces.

Six men launched an attack on the National Directorate of Security (NDS) facility in Kabul's Sedarat area at midday, detonating a car bomb at the gate before attempting to storm the facility.

All six men have been killed, officials said.

Lawmakers on Wednesday rejected for the second time the national budget for 1392 (Mar 2013-Mar 2014), citing disagreement over the allocation of funds.

"The 196 billion Afs (US$3.82 bn) normal budget and 157.7 billion Afs (US$3.07 bn) development budget is rejected by the lawmakers as there are more red cards than greens," Speaker of the House Abdul Rauf Ibrahimi said following the vote from the lawmakers.
