Scores of Militants Killed in Drone Strikes in Pakistan

Local officials said nearly 11 suspected insurgents have been killed in separated drone attacks in lawless tribal areas of Pakistan since yesterday

Five of the insurgents were killed after an unmanned plane targeted them with two rockets on Thursday.

And at least six other rebels were killed in attacks in Pakistan's tribal area on Wednesday.

It is quite a while that US drones have started targeting militants in the tribal areas of Pakistan in an attempt to weaken the insurgents that expose a huge threat for US national security.

Three insurgents who are said to be Arabs were killed on Thursday's attack in the main town in North Waziristan, according to the officials.

Since the start of this year, some 70 drone strikes have killed more than 200 militants in North and South Waziristan, according to the officials.

It is believed that the US drone attacks have been working significantly targeting militants in tribal areas of Pakistan, where al-Qaeda and Haqqani linked Taliban plan their attacks to target Afghan government compounds and foreign troops.
