The role of the US Ambassador, Karl Eikenberry, is not effective within the Afghan government, Hazrat Omar Zakhelwal, told reporters at a press conference on Saturday

The Afghan Finance Minister, Hazrat Omar Zakhelwal, slammed Wikileaks for its recent disclosure about him, describing the disclosures by the WikiLieaks as a conspiracy.

According to the recent files released by the WikiLeaks, Mr Zakhelwal has described President Hamid Karzai as "Paranoid and weak".

Zakhelwal claimed he has always defended President Karzai during his meetings with the US Ambassador and other foreign officials.

He says the WikiLeaks has published groundless accusations against him.

"The claim that I may have called my President "weak" is not even one percent true. There are many witnesses including all the ambassadors who have worked and are working in Kabul," said Mr Zakhelwal.

Mr Zakhelwal criticised the US Ambassador for his comments published by the WikiLeaks about him and President Karzai.

"Mr Ambassador had not thought that his comments would be disclosed one day. His opinion of the Afghan President is clear. In fact, what I have been blamed for is the opinion of the ambassador about President Karzai, but it is cleverly linked to me,"

According to WikiLeaks, the US Ambassador, Karl Eikenberry, has said the Afghan President is "paranoid and weak", adding that Zakhelwal has the same opinion.
