12 Security Force Members Killed in Badakhshan: Source

At least 12 members of Afghan local police were killed and 10 more were wounded in a Taliban attack in the northeastern province of Badakhshan on Monday evening, a security source said Tuesday.

The source said the Taliban attacked a security outpost in Jurm district, Badakhshan province, on Monday and four members of the local police were taken captive by the militants.

“Taliban torched two military vehicles and took military equipment at the outpost,” the source said.

But Badakhshan police said that at least 10 security force members were either killed or wounded in the attack.

The police said that the Taliban attack was “pushed back” by the security forces.
