At least nine Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers were wounded in clashes with the Taliban in northern Balkh province on Sunday morning, sources said.
The clash started around 4:00 am local time when the Taliban attacked a security outpost, the sources said, adding: "The clashes continued for several hours."
Officials at the ANA’s 209 Shaheen Corps confirmed that six soldiers were wounded in the fighting.
The Taliban has not yet commented on the attack.
