Two government workers were killed on Thursday morning by unidentified gunmen in Jalalabad city, local officials said. In a separate incident, three people were wounded in a blast targeting a border police vehicle, also in Jalalabad.

The two government workers were shot and killed by unknown gunmen in the Farm Ada area in Jalalabad city this morning, local officials said, adding that the attackers escaped after the shooting. 

Also, three people were wounded in a blast targeting a border police vehicle in Jalalabad city, according to local officials. 

The officials did not provide further details about the incidents, adding that investigations are ongoing. 

No group including the Taliban has claimed responsibility for either incident.
