2 Killed in Kabul Blast During Peak Traffic Time

At least two people were killed and five more were wounded in a roadside bomb blast in Kabul on Sunday afternoon, police said.

Police said the explosion targeted a security forces vehicle and that a woman and two children are among those wounded in the blast.

According to police, the driver of the vehicle and a passerby were killed in the explosion.

Sources said three people were killed in the blast. 

The blast happened near the Baraki roundabout in a busy and heavy traffic hour.

Footage shared on social media following the blast shows a woman lying on the ground with two distressed children, presumably the woman's, nearby.

Data collected by TOLOnews shows that 66 security and criminal incidents occurred in Kabul over the last month, during which 51 people were killed.

Former president Hamid Karzai condemned today's explosion in Kabul and called on the warring sides to make an effort for peace.

Figures by TOLOnews show that Mubashir Muslimyar, a university lecturer, Abdul Qayum Zazai, head of the operation of the NDS’s 909 unit, Zazai's son who was an army officer, two other army officers, an NDS officer, two police officers and a lecturer at Marshal Fahim Military Academy were the victims of the targeted attacks in Kabul over the last 10 days. 

The victims’ families called for justice and punishment for those behind the attacks.
