At least three people were killed and five more were wounded in an attack by unidentified armed men in the western province of Ghor on Thursday night, sources said on Friday.
The house that was attacked by gunmen belongs to Bismillah Adil, a journalist, activist and former head of Radio Sada-e-Ghor, who was killed in an attack by armed men on the first day of this year.
Local reporters said that Lala Gul, Adil’s brother, has said that Adil’s brother, cousin and his 13-year-old nephew have lost their lives in the attack.
Five others who have been wounded are also family members of Bismillah Adil, according to local sources.
Adil’s brother, Lala Gul, has claimed that the attack has been conducted by the Taliban. A Taliban spokesman, Qari Ahmad Yusuf, rejected the group’s involvement in the incident.
Local officials in Ghor said that a team has been assigned to probe the incident. Reports indicate that protests have been launched in Ghor over the incident.
