Iranian Embassy Employee Wounded in Gun Attack in Kabul

Doctors at Wazir Akbar Khan hospital have said that an employee working for the Iranian embassy in Kabul was wounded in an armed attack in Kabul on Wednesday night.

Sources told TOLOnews that the attack happened in PD10 of Kabul and an Iranian was wounded.

According to the doctors, the name of the employee is Mahdi, and he said he is a secretary at the Iranian embassy in Kabul.

“A patient was brought to us—he was an Iranian citizen—he had wounds on his right arm, a nerve was severed and there were internal and external injuries on his hand,” said Haris Arif, a surgeon in Wazir Akbar Khan hospital.

Meanwhile, the Iranian Embassy in Kabul said that an employee of the embassy was riding in his private car while shopping in downtown Kabul, and when faced with armed robbers he resisted.

The security forces have transferred the car to another place.

“They had fired bullets at the window of the car, then the car drove into the culvert,” said Qari Ajmal, an eyewitness.

In the western part of Kabul, armed men murdered the watchman of Bagh-e-Daud township and took his gun away.

Officials at Wazir Akbar Khan hospital have said that every single night they treat three or four people who survive criminal attacks in Kabul.

On Wednesday night, doctors treated five wounded people who had survived criminal attacks.
