Trump Slams Biden over Afghanistan Withdrawal

Former US President Donald Trump in an interview with Fox New slammed President Joe Biden and his administration over the Afghanistan withdrawal, calling it a “surrender.”

“What they did with the so-called withdrawal, which was really a surrender, what they did, it was the most embarrassing, horrible thing, and I don’t know that we ever psychologically recover from that,” he said.

Although Trump had brokered a deal with the Taliban and had decreased the number of US soldiers in Afghanistan during his administration, he said he would never have withdrawn the way the Biden administration did.

He added that he would also withdraw, but in a different way. “Don’t forget, I’m the one that brought it down to 2,500 troops. I would have been out too, but we would have been out with strength. We would have come out with strength.”

Trump also criticized Biden over leaving Bagram Air Base in north of Kabul, saying it was a strategic airbase near China. He said he believes that China will take over the base.

“We would have kept Bagram because it is next to China. And it is one hour away from their nuclear facility, and we gave that up too,” he added.

Trump also slammed Biden over leaving American citizens, US visa holders and US equipment in Afghanistan. He said Biden should not have withdrawn military personnel before taking all these out.

According to Trump, withdrawing from Afghanistan was the right decision, but it was not the right way to be executed.
