Family Seeks Justice for Woman Killed in Hit-And-Run

A family who lost a relative in a traffic accident allegedly committed by forces of the Islamic Emirate complained that despite one month having passed, the case has yet to be resolved.

In late October, one woman died and another was wounded after they were hit by a military vehicle in PD 5 of Kabul city.

“We request that the Islamic Emirate investigate the case and find the murderers,” said Ahmad Jawad, the son of the deceased.

Agha Gul, the woman’s husband, said that he was financially incapable of treating his daughter.

“At least they (the perpetrators) should have turned back and picked up the dead body and the wounded,” he said.

The Interior Ministry said that it has been making an intensive effort to find the perpetrators.

“The Mujahideen tried to identify the vehicle but failed. But an investigation is still underway,” said Saeed Khosti, a spokesman for the ministry.

The residents of Kabul city called on the government to punish those who violate the law. “We call on the Islamic emirate to prevent those who would cause disorder in the city,” said Abdul Qahar, a resident.

Earlier, citizens across the country complained over the existenve of some opportunistic individuals among the forces of the Islamic Emirate who were posing as official force members harass the people.

To tackle the problem, the Islamic Emirate formed a reforming commission which is tasked with finding those who misuse their authority.
