2 Killed in Clash at House of Former Govt Official

There was an armed clash on Friday night in the house of Engineer Mohammad Khan, deputy head of of the Chief Executive during the National Unity Government, and two people were killed and two others injured. 

Family members of Mohammad Khan said armed men attacked Khan’s house on Friday night and killed his son and his nephew and wounded his wife and his uncle. 

“This incident happened last night (early Saturday morning) at 1:30 am. Armed men came to our house, fired four bullets at my mother and now she is in a critical condition,” said Ahmadullah, son of Mohammad Khan .

“I could not sleep through the night. I was doing my morning prayer when I received a phone call. It was terrible. We are even afraid here,” said Ahad, a relative of Mohammad Khan.

“We urge the Islamic Emirate to find the killers and secure justice for our martyrs, so it becomes a lesson for those who commit such actions,” said Abdul Manan, brother of Mohammad Khan. 

The Kabul security department meanwhile rejected the attack on Mohammad Khan’s house and said the incident was due to family disputes. 

The security department also said an investigation is underway into the incident. 

The Ministry of Interior said the clash was due to family disputes. According to the ministry, a member of Mohammad Khan’s family is in custody in relation to this incident and he is now under investigation.
