Mohammad Nabi Omari, the governor of Khost, at a student’s graduation ceremony gave residents of this province three days to remove the tricolor flag of the country from all parts of the province.
“From now there are three days for this flag. After three days, no one is allowed to hang it on their house, shop, car and bicycle,” said Mohammad Nabi Omari, Khost governor.
“When systems change, so do flags,” said Abdul Hamid Hamasi, a member of the Islamic Emirate.
Omari said that some citizens of the country are abusing the amnesty decree and have launched negative propaganda against the Islamic Emirate.
“Those who have hostilities toward us in terms of ideology, politics ... have not yet been reformed, they are forcing us to treat them in a way that the Islamic Emirate was treating them before,” said Mohammad Nabi Omari, Khost governor.
Meanwhile, a number of Khost residents say that in the current sensitive situation, the issue of the flag should not be raised.
“The national flag is the flag of the people and depends upon the people, it was approved by Amanullah Khan in the Loya Jirga. Statements about the national flag may not end well at this critical time,” said Akbar, a resident of Khost.
“Now is not the time for the government to raise the issue of the national flag because these decisions will be made in the Loya Jirga,” said Marjan Hasand, a resident of Khost.
While the three-color flag (black, green, and red) is recognized by the constitution, since the takeover by the Islamic Emirate the white flag has been used by the Islamic Emirate.
