4 Members of Paghman Family Freed By Security Forces

Four newly released members of a family in Paghman district of Kabul province claim they were tortured by Islamic Emirate forces.

The four members of the family were released from prison yesterday evening after TOLOnews reported the arrest of five members of a family and two guests in Kabul's Paghman district.

“They closed our eyes and brought us to Paghman district. After praying the evening prayer, until two in the morning, very ruthlessly they took us to the research room and electrically shocked our legs,” said Zabihullah, a released man.

“They beat us for 11 days and nights, they hung us for two to three hours, then they took us and beat us. We were not guilty and we were working in the government,”said Ahmad Shah, the released man.

“We are farmers, we have a cow, we are shopkeepers. We ask the Islamic Emirate to remove such people from the Emirate,” said Shahin Shah, a released person.

The family members say they are happy with the release of their sons, but claim that one member of the family and two of their guests are still being held by security forces.

“I ask God and these Muslim Mujahideen to release my son and two of my guests,” said Bibi Amina, Abdullah Shah's mother.

“Today, we are very happy that our children have been released, but it is unknown whether my husband's nephew and two of his guests have been released. We want them to be released,” said Khanem Gul.

Those who were released say that 11 days ago, during a house-to-house search with another member of the family and two of their guests, they were arrested by the security forces of the Islamic Emirate.

Despite repeated attempts, TOLOnews has not received a comment from officials. Two days before the report was published by TOLOnews, the family claimed that the security forces of the Islamic Emirate had arrested five of their sons and two guests.
