The Ministry of Haj said the quota of Afghanistan’s Haj is less this year than in the past. 

According to the ministry, the people who have been registered over the past two years to perform the Haj will be on the priority list of the government. 

“This year, those individuals who were registered last year will be added in the quota,” said Fazal Mohammad Hasinai, an official at the Ministry of Haj.  

According to Hasinai, the individuals who are above age 65 will not be included in the Haj process.  

“Saudi Arabia put some conditions on the people who are performing Haj -- they must not be older than 65 and must be vaccinated,” he said.  

However, Afghans criticized the new requirements of the Saudi government. 

“We hope the restrictions which are imposed by Saudi Arabia will be eliminated so everyone can go to Haj,” said Sayed Sultan, a resident of Kabul.  

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior said it will ramp up the process of distributing passports to help the people who are going for Haj receive their passports on time.
