Naeem Wardak, spokesman of the Political Office of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Qatar, told TOLOnews that Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid, acting Minister of Defense, met with a number of Qatari officials on the second day of his official trip to Qatar.
The spokesman added that the acting Minister of Defense had meetings with the National Security Adviser, the Chief of Staff, the Chief of Intelligence and head of office for Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
"Mohammed Yaqoob Mujahid, acting Minister of Defense, has traveled to Qatar and met with the Emir of Qatar, the Minister of Defense, and a number of other senior officials of Qatar and discussed a range of topics. Now their talks are still ongoing, and they are having important discussions on various other issues,” said Bilal Karimi, deputy spokesman of the Islamic Emirate.
Some analysts said that the trip of the acting Minister of Defense will have an effect on the relations of the Islamic Emirate with the world.
"The main purpose of this trip is for the Qataris to convey the American message to the Taliban as well as the current developments in the region and the world,” said Javed Sangdel, expert on international relations.
