Celebrations Held Around Country to Mark Anniversary of US Pullout

August 31, which is the one-year anniversary of the withdrawal of American forces from Afghanistan, was celebrated in some provinces across the country.

Meanwhile, some members of the Islamic Emirate accused some former Afghan officials of paving the ground for the coming of US troops in Afghanistan.

“What would have happened if the war would have been in the US, what if the war was not in Afghanistan. They made the enemies of God to come to Afghanistan,” Badakhshan Governor Mawlawi Nisar Ahmad said.

“Until the Islamic Emirate accepts the wishes of the Americans, they will not engage,” said Obaidullah Ameenzada, governor of Parwan province.

The officials of the Islamic Emirate called on some of the world countries to not interrupt in Afghanistan’s internal affairs.

“The big bombs have not affected (morale) of Afghans, so other economic pressures will also not have any impact,” Nimroz Governor Najibullah said.

“I call on the Mujahideen to treat the people in a good manner,” said Mawlawi Habibullah Agha, head of the Kandahar Islamic clerics’ council.

Meanwhile, the Afghans held rallies to protest the use of Pakistan’s airspace by US drones to conduct flights over Afghanistan.

“The drones which are coming from Pakistan or other countries should have stopped the attacks,” said Abdullah, a resident of Nangarhar.

“We strongly condemn the airstrikes being conducted by the drones,” said Mohammad Naseer, a resident of Nangarhar.

Despite one year passing since the Islamic Emirate swept into power, no countries have yet to recognize its interim government.
