Students Calls for Scheduling of University Entrance Exam

Afghan students called on the Islamic Emirate to schedule the university entrance examination, saying that they are facing an uncertain future.

Murtaza has graduated from school and is currently working at a shop. Murtaza said he wants to become a doctor in the future.

“It has been six or seven months, and there has yet to be a university entrance test. If the Islamic Emirate has any answer, tell us,” he said.

“We call on the Ministry of Higher Education to take action toward holding the university entrance. It has been a long time that I am studying for the entrance exam,” said Masouda, a student.

The school teachers said that delays in the university entrance’s examination will bring negative consequences in the country.

“Cutting the circle of education is dangerous and will have permanent effects. If we don’t start the university this year and so lack the first education year, then we will not have a second year for it either. If it keeps going like this, we will not have any graduation within some years,” said Mohammad Nazeer Jamshidi, a teacher.

Despite several attempts, TOLOnews was unable to obtain any comment from the Ministry of Higher Education. Earlier, the Higher Education Ministry said that the university examination would be held after the month of Sonbola.
