Biden Vows to Prevent Another 9/11 After Afghan Exit

Talking at the at 9/11 Memorial Ceremony, US President Joe Biden said that Washington’s commitment to preventing another attack on the United States is "without end."

"20 years after Afghanistan is over but our commitment to preventing another attack on the United States is without end," Biden said while referring to the killing of two famous al-Qaeda leaders, Osama bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahiri.

“It took 10 years to hunt down and kill Osama bin Laden, but we did.  And this summer, I authorized a successful strike on Zawahiri, the man who bin Laden — was his deputy on 9/11 and was the leader of al Qaeda,” Biden said. “Because we will not rest.  We’ll never forget.  We’ll never give up.  And now, Zawahiri can never again threaten the American people.”

This comes as former US CENTCOM commander Gen. Kenneth F. McKenzie said the US has limited ability to “see into” Afghanistan.

“I think that we have a very, very limited ability to see into Afghanistan right now. I have said, I think we have certainly lost two or three percent of the intelligence capability that we had before we withdrew,” he told the CBS news.

The political analysts gave various opinions in this regard:

"Of course, the members of al-Qaeda are coming through Iran and other countries to Afghanistan,” said Mohammad Khan Andar, a political analyst.

“If there is any threat of terrorists from Afghanistan for the US, America has the cooperation of Pakistan,” said Torek Farhadi, a political analyst.

Meanwhile, the Islamic Emirate said that Afghan soil will not be used against anyone country.

“The claims that Afghan soil threatens their interest is baseless,” said Bilal Karimi, deputy spokesman for the Islamic Emirate.
