University Entrance Exams Held Around Country

University entrance exams were begun on Thursday in 33 provinces of the country.

The Ministry of Higher Education said that the university entrance exams will continue for three days.

"University entrance exams were held in 33 provinces of the country and this exam will continue for three days," said Ahmad Taqa, a spokesman for the MoHE.

According to numbers of the National Examination Authority, more than 100,000 volunteers took admission cards for the university entrance exam.

Those in charge of the exam said that the male and female participants will be separated and take the tests at different times.

They said there are fewer participants in the university entrance exams than in previous years.

"800 students participated from Kunar province, all of them were boys and in the afternoon we will have the exam for female students," said Mohammad Arif, an exam offical in Kunar.

"This year fortunately 800 students participated in this exam from Farah province," said Nemat Ullah Ansari, head of the university in Farah.

Meanwhile, some students at the university entrance exam said that they have taken special preparations and hope for transparent results.

"I have prepared for this exam and i hope for transparent results," said Abdul Khaliq, a participant from Bamiyan.

"I have prepared for the exam and I would like to study in the economic faculty," said Abdul Wali, a student from Helmand.

The examination for the university entrance this year is being held after a four-month-long delay.
