Turkish Ulema Pledges to Promote Opportunities in Afghanistan

A number of Turkish Ulema members during their visit to Afghanistan met with the officials of the Islamic Emirate and pledged to convey to the Islamic World the existing opportunities in Afghanistan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said.

"The Islamic Ulema of Turkey pledged to convey the message about the proper security and existing opportunities to the Muslim World,” said Zia Ahmad Takal, deputy spokesman for MoFA.

The acting Minister of Interior, Serajuddin Haqqani, welcomed the support of the Turkish Ulema for the Islamic Emirate.

“Haqqani appreciated the support of the Turkish Ulema and expressed happiness that Afghanistan hosted them,” said Abdul Nafay Takor, a spokesman for the Interior Ministry.

“These meetings and several other such meetings, which are expected to be held in the future, pave the way for Islamic countries to recognize the Afghan government step-by-step,” said Fazal Rahman Oria, a political analyst.

This comes as no countries including Turkey has yet recognized the Islamic Emirate.
