Some students who suffered injuries in the attack on the Kaaj educational center in Kabul's PD 13, scored high on the university entrance exam (Kankor) and have been admitted to the faculties of their choice.

Even though several of them were dealing with mental and physical health issues from the attack when they took the test, they performed well and were admitted to the faculties of their choice.

Fatema Amiri, 17, was a student who lost vision in one eye after the attack on the Kaaj Educational Center. She received a score of 313 on the exam and was admitted into Kabul University's Computer Science faculty.

Fatema added that she needs surgery abroad to restore her eyesight.

"My goal was to win the first place position on the Kankor, or at least place in the top 10. However, I was saddened by the fact that there wasn't even one girl among the top 10 this year," Fatema said.

"Regarding her treatment, we are hopeful someone will assist us in this area," Fatima's father said.

One of the students at Kaaj Educational Center, Hamidullah, whose spine was injured in the suicide attack at Kaaj Educational Center on the 8th of Mizan, 1401, (solar year), received a score of 341 and was accepted into the medical faculty at Kabul University of Medical Sciences (Abu Ali Ibn Sina).

"Even though the exam was a little challenging since I completed the paper when I was laying down--it was challenging to fill in the paper and solve the questions--I was confident in myself because I prepared hard,” Hamidullah said.

Girls scored highest on the university entrance test in solar years 1397, 1399, and 1400, but in 1401, no girls were among the top ten positions.

Meanwhile, some students claim they were not admitted to the faculties of their choice due to some restrictions.

"All of my options were for journalism, and eventually I chose the public relations faculty, but I don't understand why I didn't succeed or what the reason was," Zahra said.

The university entrance exam results were announced on Saturday, and more than 120,000 participants from this year were accepted into institutions of higher education into other similar post-high school programs.
