Kabul Municipality to Place Decorative Installations in All Squares

The Kabul Municipality said that it plans to decorate all the city’s intersections with various sculptures, and so far it has decorated twenty of the city's squares with various objects.

Dahan-e-Bagh Square was decorated with a globe. The globe is eight meters in diameter.

"Out of the 181 projects that we had announced, more than 64 percent of them—or about 105 projects—were street projects. As we speak, these works are ongoing in various locations at different levels,” said Nematullah Barekzai, the representative of Kabul Municipality.

In addition to constructing facades at the capital's squares, Kabul Municipality is trying to find solutions to reduce traffic in the city.

According to Kabul Municipality, more than 100 road construction projects are now ongoing.

Meanwhile, Kabul residents praise the activities of Kabul municipality.

"You see how many people come, take photos, assemble, and enjoy because of the square. The more calm the nation, the happier the people are,” said Zikrullah, a resident of Kabul.

"I came from Kandahar, Kabul Municipality has built these sorts of squares, it has built beautiful places,” said Javed Ahmad, a resident of Kandahar.

"The design of the roads is a great move, and we truly appreciate and are delighted with this action of the municipality,” said Abdul Masour, a resident of Kabul.

According to the Kabul municipality representative, the municipality has also begun developing plans for reconstruction for the 1402 solar year.
