The residents of Kabul called on the Islamic Emirate to immediately resume the passport distribution process. 

The residents said that they are facing severe challenges and cannot take their patients abroad due to lack of passports. 

"All of Afghanistan wants the passport department to be reopened,” said Naseem, a resident of Kabul.

The distribution of passports has been halted for more than two months.

“I want the Islamic Emirate to reopen the doors of the passport offices for everyone in Afghanistan,” said Zahra, a resident.

However, a spokesman for the general department of passports said that the process of passport distribution will be resumed in the near future. 

“There are hopes, and efforts are underway. There are some problems, but as long as the technical problems are solved, we will resume the distribution of passports,” said Noorullah Patman, a spokesman for the general department of passport. 

In October, the department of passports said that it had halted the distribution of passports for an unknown period of time due to technical issues.
