The attack on a hotel in the Shar-e-Naw area of Kabul ended with the killing of three attackers, Islamic Emirate Spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid said on Twitter.

Gunmen attacked a hotel on Monday in downtown Kabul, in the Shar-e-Naw area, a security spokesman had confirmed earlier.

Kabul Security Department’s Spokesman Khalid Zadran said a compound called “Kabul Hotel," in which ordinary people are living, came under attack by “devil” elements.

According to Mujahid, all guests have been evacuated and no foreign nationals were killed in the attack.

“Only two foreigners who jumped from the flat received injuries,” he said.

A government source told TOLOnews that there were four attackers and one of them blew himself up at a security gate. 

The source said that the three other attackers were shot dead by the Islamic Emirate forces. 

According to the source, one member of Islamic Emirate forces was killed and three others were wounded.

No one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.

A resident told TOLOnews that two big blasts were heard followed by several small blasts. He said the building belongs to Chinese nationals.
