Exhibition Combining Industry and Education Held in Kabul

An exhibition titled "Education and Profession" was organized in cooperation with the ministries of higher education, education, industry and commerce, and the technical and vocational education department, and a number of private universities in Kabul.

The organizers of the event said that 25 universities and private institutes are participating in this exhibition along with the technical and vocational education department.

According to the organizers, the goal of opening this exhibition is to support the nation's academic and professional institutions.

"Technical, professional, and educational institutions participated in the exhibition, and 130 rooms were shared. And this is from the plan for the Intercontinental Hotel. We opened the exhibition for academic and professional institutions that began their new academic year in the month of Hamal,” said the event's organizer, Sayed Zirkrullah Hashemi.

"The goal of this exhibition is to acquaint the people with the facilities that each university, department, and ministry has,” said Ghulam Haidar Shahamat, the head of Afghanistan's technical and vocational education department.

Several of the students that took part in this exhibition believe that organizing such exhibitions is useful for boosting knowledge and inspiring young people to pursue technical and scientific professions.

"The people here have various viewpoints; some have built car engines, while others have created robots and other advancements. If given assistance and given access to these advances, they can turn Afghanistan into an industrialized nation,” said Romanullah, a participant.

"Sadly, the participation of women and girls in this exhibition was very limited. We hope that similar exhibitions will be held in the future so that girls and women participate more than today, said Sima Gawhari, another attendee.

The Chamber of Commerce and Investment stressed the need to expand Afghanistan's professional science sector's capability, saying that a nation's economic growth and development are dependent on its scientific accomplishments.

"Afghanistan needs high-quality education in the current situation. Without a high-quality education, it will be impossible for us to advance. So, we must create our educational system with quality and capacity,” said Mohammad Yunus Momand, head of the Chamber of Commerce and Investment.

The organizers believe that such exhibits are helpful in increasing the ability of students and educational institutions, and this one will go on for two more days.
