The embassy of the Islamic Emirate in Islamabad said that the release of Afghan prisoners will improve relations between Kabul and Islamabad.

More than 130 Afghan prisoners have been released from Pakistan prisons.

"We called on Pakistani officials to release Afghan prisoners immediately, and this action will improve relations between the two countries," said Sardar Ahmad Shikeb, Afghanistan ambassador in Islamabad.

The Afghanistan consul in Karachi said that efforts are underway to release Afghan citizens from Pakistani prisons.

"The Islamic Emirate will pay all the expenses. Before this 1400 Afghan prisoners were released from Pakistan prisons and efforts are ongoing to release remaining Afghan prisoners," said Abdul Jabar Takhari, Afghan consul in Karachi.

Meanwhile, some Afghan refugees in Pakistan said that Afghan prisoners in Pakistan are in bad condition and they asked the government to act.

"Afghans who are here don't have documents, they have to be registered," said Abobakr Sulimankhil, refugee rights activist.

"In Pakistan, Afghans are in prison and we ask the government to release them," said Awal Gul, Afghan refugee council member.

According to the information of the Afghanistan embassy in Pakistan, the arrest of Afghan citizens has decreased but still 600 Afghan refugees are prisoners in Pakistan.
