The consul of the Islamic Emirate in Karachi, Abdul Jabar Takhari, in a video called on Afghan refugees in Pakistan to not participate in the gatherings of Pakistan's political parties.

Takhari said that they will not be able to defend any Afghan refugee who comes under criticism by the Pakistani government because of cooperation with any of the country’s political parties or participating in their gatherings– as there are ongoing disputes among the political parties in Pakistan.

"They should not interfere in political affairs of parties here; Because they have differences among themselves. One party has disputes with another. If they join some parties, or cooperate with them, or participate in their meetings, and if the face any problem from the government, we cannot support them,” Takhari said.

Meanwhile, some Afghan immigrants said that political parties in Pakistan use Afghans living in Pakistan to achieve their goals.

"There are political groups in Pakistan that take advantage of Afghans. They bring Afghans to their parties, meetings, and demonstrations and chant slogans against their government,” said Javid Abrar, an Afghan immigrant in Pakistan.

According to some immigrant rights advocates, Afghan immigrants' involvement in political parties in Pakistan will be harmful to all Afghan immigrants.

"It is better that immigrants do not get involved in the affairs of Pakistan so that they can live well in that country,” said Mohammad Khan Talibi, a immigrants’ rights activist.

"If Pakistani political parties want to include immigrants in their political games, they must ensure their security and complete protection," said Asefa Stanikzai, an immigrants’ rights activist.

This comes as the Pakistani police have recently detained and imprisoned Afghan immigrants in Pakistan's Sindh province, or they have deported them back to Afghanistan.
