Refugees Call for Shelter in Warm Areas as Winter Approaches

The Afghan refugees who have been deported by Pakistan and are currently based in temporary camps in Nangarhar, complained about their conditions and asked for resettlement in warm areas as the season is getting cold.

The refugees said that many of them are originally from cold areas.

"We should be provided with settlement facilities in a warm area such as Nangarhar," said Qadir Khan, a refugee.

"The weather is so cold. If we go to our place, the life will become difficult for us," said Faridullag, a deportee.

This comes as a local organization began construction of 70 houses in the Moman Dara district of Nangarhar, which will be provided to the families deported from Pakistan.

"Every house will include one room, one washroom and kitchen. Every house will cost $2,200," said Almas Momand, head of the organization.

Pakistan has announced it will deport 1.73 million undocumented Afghan refugees.
