A contract for the 500 KV Sheberghan-Dashte Alwan electricity transmission project was signed between the Islamic Emirate and a private company.
Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) said that the value of this project is $36 million dollars and its work will be completed in the next two years.
The office of the Deputy PM for economic affairs at the signing ceremony of the contract asked the contractor to make serious efforts to complete the project.
The contract involves both the implementation of the remaining work of the 500 kV Turkmenistan electricity project from Sheberghan to Dashte Alwan substation in Baghlan province and the development project of Dashte Alwan substation, together worth more than thirty-six million US dollars. It was signed by the officials of the Islamic Emirate with a domestic company.
Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, deputy prime minister for economic affairs, called the 500 KV Sheberghan-Dashte Alwan project a major national project and asked the contractor to pay serious attention to the completion of this project.
"Due to the difference in the price of imported electricity, tens of millions of dollars will be saved annually for the country. We request the importing company to pay serious attention to this project and implement this project as soon as possible," Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar said.
This project was started in the year 2015 and its implementation had seven stages.
DABS says that work on the project progressed 76% during the previous government and by its completion, 1,000 megawatts of electricity will be transferred.
"These two projects are worth $36 million and its completion period is about 2 years,” said Shukrullah Sharafmal, head of investment attraction for Breshna.
