MoF Says Salaries Paid to 1 Million Govt Employees

The Islamic Emirate announced the implementation of some projects in the current solar year.

Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman of the Islamic Emirate, said that in the year 1402, a development budget worth more than 1.5 billion Afghanis was allocated to the Ministry of Finance.

The spokesman of the Islamic Emirate, said: “The Ministry of Finance has been able to provide the budget from this area, whereas the Islamic Emirate has been financing the budget from its own resources for two years. From now on, they will be able to take better actions."

Mujahid added that around 180 billion Afs of people's loans and guarantees remain unpaid from the previous government and the MoF “is starting the payment process, according to which 10 percent of the loans of those institutions whose loans have been processed will be paid in the current fiscal year.”

He wrote on X that the Ministry of Finance “regularly pays salaries to around a million government employees, of which 86,981 are female employees.”

Mirwais Hotak, head of the Executive Board of the Chamber of Commerce and Investment, said: “The private sector welcomes this and the investment increases. The investor invests more willingly and the activities in the country increase.”

A number of economic analysts said that increasing the work of development projects is beneficial for economic growth and providing work for the country's citizens.

"They should give priority to those projects to provide work for many people. Currently we need many people in the agricultural sector and we have a lot of land to work on," said Mohammad Nabi Afghan, an economic analyst.

Earlier, the Ministry of Economy said that in 2023, 179 projects worth more than 27 billion afghani from domestic revenues were completed.
