The Badakhshan Security Command said that four individuals have been arrested in connection with yesterday's explosion (Wednesday, May 8) in the province.

Dost Mohammad Obaida, the head of security at the Badakhshan Security Command, told TOLOnews that interrogations of the detained individuals have begun.

Meanwhile, ISIS claimed responsibility for yesterday's explosion in Badakhshan.

Dost Mohammad Obaida said: "We have apprehended four suspects linked to this event and they are under investigation. Details will be clarified later."

At the same time, several residents of Badakhshan province told TOLOnews that the occurrence of this event has worried them. They have requested the security institutions to make greater efforts in ensuring security.

"Our plea to the Islamic Emirate is to prevent such attacks so that people can live in a safe environment," Shafiqullah Jafari, a resident of Badakhshan, told TOLOnews.

"Our demand from the forces of the Islamic Emirate government is to strive more than they have in the past to ensure security so that the people of Badakhshan do not feel anxious," said Merajuddin Rahimi, another resident of Badakhshan.

Around eleven o'clock before noon on Wednesday, a convoy of vehicles from the Ministry of Interior was targeted in an attack in the city of Faizabad, which, according to the Ministry of Interior, resulted in the death of three security forces and injuries to five others.
