End of Two-Day Consultative Meeting of Islamic Scholars in Istanbul

The two-day consultative meeting of Islamic scholars in Istanbul, Turkey, concluded with the publication of a three-page resolution.

The Ministry of Hajj and Islamic Affairs (MoHIA), has stated that the meeting discussed the challenges facing Islamic countries and ways to overcome them.

Ali Erbaş, the head of Turkey's Religious Affairs, said about the meeting: "The Consultative Assembly of Islamic Scholars was held to examine problems and solutions, hosted by the Presidency of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Turkey from May 12 to 14, 2024, in Istanbul. The assembly discussed conflicts and wars around the Muslim world and the issues threatening the unity of the Ummah in detail."

Noor Mohammad Saqib, the acting Minister of Hajj and Religious Affairs, in a meeting with the head of Turkey's Religious Affairs, described the organization of such meetings as beneficial for discussing the resolution of issues in Islamic countries.

Some political experts believe such meetings do not contribute to improving the situation in the region and Islamic countries.

Salim Paigir, a military affairs expert, told TOLOnews: "In the world, the major countries are the decision-makers, not the small Islamic countries. Therefore, whenever the major countries decide on the situation in the world and Afghanistan, these countries will follow suit."

The consultative meeting of Islamic scholars started on Monday in Istanbul, Turkey, with representatives from fifty Islamic countries, including a delegation from the Islamic Emirate, participating.

Noor Mohammad Saqib, the acting Minister of Hajj and Religious Affairs, represented the Islamic Emirate at this meeting, and the main focus of the meeting was discussing how to address challenges in the Palestine conflict.
