Residents of Dand Patan District in Paktia said that the recent border clashes between the forces of the Islamic Emirate and Pakistani military have caused millions of afghani in damages.
According to residents, Pakistani forces fired dozens of rockets at shops, homes, and public facilities, inflicting significant losses on the local residents.
Nazir Mohammad, a victim, said: "Shells have been fired by Pakistan and have harmed the people. They have damaged shops and buildings."
Muslim Khpelwak, another victim, said: "Including my shop, there is no shop in the customs area that hasn't been damaged."
Local residents say that in every border clash, Pakistani forces target civilian and commercial areas.
The residents call for assistance from the interim government and aid organizations.
Hazrat Gul, a victim, said: "Goods worth approximately eighteen lakhs afghani in my shop have been destroyed and burned. Our request from the Islamic Emirate is to help us."
Asif Zazai, another victim, said: "Whenever there is trouble from Pakistan, they also target our shops."
The border clashes between the forces of the Islamic Emirate and the Pakistani military continued for four days and ended on Saturday, with the mediation of tribal elders from both sides of the Durand Line.
