Justice Ministry Launches Nationwide Investigation to Reclaim Seized Lands

The Ministry of Justice announced that all residential areas in the country are under investigation by the commission tasked with the prevention of land grabbing and stabilizing taken land.

Barkatullah Rasooli, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Justice, said that so far this commission has investigated the lands of several residential areas and different regions of Kabul.

The spokesman said: "The commission for the prevention of land grabbing and stabilizing taken land is also investigating residential areas in Kabul and the provinces, and if the governmental lands are seized, they will be reclaimed."

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Justice announced that nearly 60,000 acres of land in the city and districts of Kabul have been reclaimed from usurpers.

A number of experts and residents of Kabul emphasized the need to return all personal and government lands seized by usurpers.

"The lands belong to the nation and the public treasury, and there is a need for a serious commission to decisively implement the reclamation of illegally seized lands and return them to the public treasury," said Ghulam Mohammaduddin Mohammadi, a political affairs expert.

"If the land is government-owned, it should be returned to the government, and if it is private, it should be handed over to its owner," said Amanullah, a resident of Kabul.

"Over the past twenty years, lands have been seized. The government must reclaim these lands, utilize them, and punish the usurpers according to Sharia," said Ajmal, another resident of Kabul.

According to information from the Ministry of Justice, the commission has reclaimed more than 2.5 million acres of seized land across the country and handed them over to the relevant departments.
