Noor Mohammad Saqib, the acting Minister of Haj and Religious Affairs, participated in the Conference of Ministers of Hajj and Religious Affairs of Islamic Countries in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
Arefullah Aref, the Administrative Deputy of the ministry, stated that this annual meeting was organized by Saudi Arabia to gather opinions, suggestions, and present new plans to facilitate Haj pilgrims.
Speaking at a meeting in Kabul, Aref said: "A conference is held by Saudi Arabia among Islamic countries to discuss issues related to Haj and share their consultations."
The Deputy Minister of Haj and Religious Affairs added that the Acting Minister participated in this conference at the official invitation of Saudi Arabia.
In addition to Islamic countries, representatives from some non-Islamic countries are also present at the meeting, he said.
Some religious scholars said that the participation of the Islamic Emirate in major Islamic conferences and listening to the views of scholars of the Islamic world can benefit the interim government officials.
Abdul Rahim Abid, a religious scholar, said: "Scholars understand the language of scholars well, they are given constructive advice and can share considerations. The Islamic Emirate should not miss these opportunities."
On May 14, Noor Mohammad Saqib, the acting Minister of Haj and Religious Affairs, had participated in a consultative meeting of Islamic world scholars in Turkey, where representatives from fifty Islamic countries were also present.
