The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate welcomed the recent remarks by the Russian foreign minister regarding ongoing and genuine dialogue with the caretaker government of Afghanistan.
In a statement, the ministry said that the Islamic Emirate has always emphasized comprehensive and result-oriented dialogues on common issues with the world.
The statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that since the Islamic Emirate regained power in Afghanistan, security threats have been eliminated, creating a conducive environment for investment in the country.
The statement of the ministry said: "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomes the remarks of Lavrov, the Russian Foreign Minister, regarding further, ongoing, and genuine dialogues with the government of Afghanistan. The Islamic Emirate always emphasizes that, as a responsible government, it is ready to have comprehensive and result-oriented dialogues with all parties on common issues."
"The Islamic Emirate needs to strive to choose a direction between two powers that ensures the country's interests are safeguarded, and the people of Afghanistan can develop using this opportunity and move towards progress," said Mohammad Bilal Omar, a political analyst.
A day earlier, the Russian Foreign Minister, in a press conference at the conclusion of the meeting of the foreign ministers of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member states, said that the members of this organization favor more stable and continuous dialogue with the caretaker government of Afghanistan.
Sergey Lavrov, warning about the continuation of threats from Afghanistan, added that it is necessary to have more fundamental dialogues with the Islamic Emirate regarding the fight against terrorism.
"Closeness with one country cannot solve Afghanistan's problems. Until a general consensus is formed among powerful countries, they cannot interact with a single country; however, they can find their interests in the interests of major powers," said Javed Momand, a political analyst.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin, in his remarks, considered interaction with the Islamic Emirate important and also emphasized the establishment of an inclusive government in the country.
