Islamic Emirate Delegates Meet with Countries' Envoys Ahead of Doha 3

The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan delegation, prior to the start of the third Doha summit on Afghanistan, has met with the UN representative and special representatives from Russia, Pakistan, India, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan.

Zakir Jalali, director of the third political department of the Foreign Ministry of the Islamic Emirate, said that before the meeting, the Islamic Emirate delegation would also meet with representatives from Kazakhstan, the UK, Norway, Indonesia, Ireland, and the UN.

Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman for the Islamic Emirate, said that Saudi Arabia wants to reopen its embassy in Kabul as soon as possible.

Mujahid said: "This meeting is intended to address issues with countries that have initial relations with Afghanistan, problematic relations, grievances, or expectations."

Meanwhile, the ambassador and special representative of Iran for Afghanistan described the conditions in Afghanistan and the region as complex, requiring comprehensive consultations with all parties.

Hassan Kazemi Qomi expressed hope that this meeting would lead to peace, stability, security, sustainable development, and a government based on the free will of the people.

Qomi said: "Our goal in participating in this meeting is to clarify positions, convey Tehran's concerns about Afghanistan, and explain Iran's humanitarian policies regarding Afghan citizens present in the country to UN officials and participating countries."

"A strong and unified message from Afghanistan to the world is necessary. If Afghanistan's representatives do not attend the Doha meeting or any other meeting, that meeting will be fruitless," said Mohammad Emal Dostyar, a political analyst.

Meanwhile, Rina Amiri, United States Special Envoy for Afghan Women, Girls and Human Rights, said that she will present the concerns and suggestions of Afghan women to the special representatives of countries and the UN at the third Doha meeting.

Amiri said: “In the last 3 weeks, I have spoken w/ a broad range of Afghan women & human rights networks inside & outside Afg who relayed concerns & recommendations, which I have shared w/ 20+ countries & the UN & will take to Doha 3.”

"We would like a true representative of Afghan women to be present to express Afghan women's demands at this meeting," said Tafsir Siah Poosh, a women's rights activist.

"It is essential that women who are in Afghanistan, those who are struggling with these problems here, be present there," said Alam Tab Amiri, a women's rights activist.

Meanwhile, Habiba Sarabi, a member of the former government's negotiating team, Zubayda Akbari, a human rights activist, and Nabila Musleh, Deputy Minister of Women's Affairs in the previous government, have declined the invitation to participate in this meeting.
