The head of the Islamic Emirate delegation at the third Doha meeting on Afghanistan, Zabihullah Mujahid, described the Doha meeting as positive for Afghanistan, saying that the outcome demonstrated the supportive stance of various countries toward Afghanistan.
Zabihullah Mujahid said there were no discussions on the recognition of the Islamic Emirate, girls' education, or an inclusive government, during the meeting.
Speaking to journalists, Mujahid also said the appointment of a special representative for Afghanistan is unnecessary.
"We understood from this meeting that many countries have the intention or willingness to support Afghanistan. Additionally, we do not allow anyone to interfere in Afghanistan's affairs. The occasional flights over our airspace are an act of aggression, which we condemn and do not accept. Some issues are internal matters of Afghanistan, and we do not want them to be influenced by other countries. Afghans have the right to make requests from their own system," he added.
The Islamic Emirate delegation continued its meetings on the sidelines of the third Doha meeting with special representatives from Iran, Pakistan, and Qatar.
It was mentioned that common issues between these countries, reviewing Afghanistan's progress, and strengthening relations were topics of discussion during these meetings.
Zabihullah Mujahid continued: "We discussed all issues related to the two countries, and they promised to convey the messages to their countries. We will also relay the messages to our leaders."
On the other hand, China's special envoy for Afghanistan, Yue Xiaoyong, told TOLOnews in Doha that some countries believe that engagement with the Taliban is necessary for a stable Afghanistan. He also noted that this meeting differed from previous Doha meetings due to the presence of the Islamic Emirate delegation.
Yue Xiaoyong said: "I observe that both regional countries and the international community at large all believe that they should engage with the Afghanistan Taliban and they should engage Afghanistan to have dialogue so that both sides can work together to ensure to have sustainable peace, stability and reconstruction of Afghanistan after the 20-year occupation by the US and NATO."
Meanwhile, the United Nations Under-Secretary-General stated in a press conference at the end of the third Doha meeting that countries and the UN have consistently called on the Islamic Emirate to form an inclusive government, combat terrorism and drug trafficking, and include ethnic minorities in Afghanistan.
