Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, considers the non-recognition of the caretaker government by the international community to be an injustice to the citizens of the country.
Mujahid said the reasons provided by countries for not recognizing the caretaker government are illogical and added that these reasons are not based on international law.
He told TOLOnews that the caretaker government has met the conditions for recognition; however, some countries that have been defeated in Afghanistan are using this issue to exert pressure on the Islamic Emirate.
Zabihullah Mujahid stated, “The fact that it has not been announced or there has been no comprehensive action, some countries that have been defeated in Afghanistan are still in the same state and are in a kind of jealousy. We want this problem to be resolved as soon as possible, and the countries that have not yet taken action in this regard should act.”
Now the question is, what are the reasons for countries to recognize the caretaker government, and what steps should the Islamic Emirate take in this regard?
Moeen Gul Samkani, a political analyst, said, “If we want to connect with the rest of the world, we need to convene a Loya Jirga where the demands of Afghans and the international community are put on the table and ultimately, the Afghans decide.”
The formation of an inclusive government, ensuring human rights, especially the rights of women and girls, intra-Afghan dialogues, not using Afghan soil against other countries, and the prohibition of the cultivation, production, and trafficking of drugs are said to be the fundamental demands of the world for recognizing the caretaker government. According to officials of various countries, these demands have not yet been fulfilled in Afghanistan.
