The valleys of Shakh and Zang in Garziwan district, Faryab, with their beautiful and picturesque waterfalls, have recently attracted domestic tourists.
Several tourists who have visited this area have cited road damage and the lack of facilities at these recreational sites as a serious challenge.
These valleys are approximately 100 kilometers from Maimana, the center of Faryab province.
Sohrab Beigzad, a tourist, told TOLOnews: "The biggest problem we have here is the road. Unfortunately, the road from the provincial center to the district is not constructed, and from the district to this valley, the road is difficult to pass. People who come for sightseeing and tourism usually struggle to come by motorcycle or car and then enjoy their trip."
Hojatullah Faiq, another tourist, said: "Perhaps very few people have visited here, and it is a very recreational place worth visiting repeatedly. The only problem we faced was the lack of good and proper roads."
The tall waterfalls among the natural and scenic rocks in Garziwan district, Faryab, have so far remained hidden from the eyes of many citizens due to various reasons.
However, with overall security and an increase in domestic tourism, these waterfalls in the district now captivate every onlooker.
Meanwhile, local officials in Faryab acknowledge the existing challenges and say that the Islamic Emirate has plans for constructing roads to these recreational and scenic areas.
Shamsuddin Mohammadi, Head of Information and Culture of Faryab, said: "In the areas where our compatriots go for recreation and tourism, the roads are bad. However, the efforts of the Islamic Emirate and the leadership of Faryab province are ongoing in this regard, and God willing, the roads will be reconstructed. Although it takes time, efforts are underway."
This is while residents of various provinces of the country have previously complained about road damage and the lack of facilities in recreational and scenic places and have called for addressing these challenges.
