The building of a school in the most remote area of Pashtun Kot district, Faryab, has been opened after 20 years.
The Faryab Department of Education stated that the construction cost of this school exceeded 16 million afghani and nearly 500 students are studying there.
Mohammad Tahir Jawad, the head of the department, pledged ongoing efforts to address challenges, provide a suitable educational environment, ensure quality, and employ professional teachers in the province.
Regarding this, the head of the Faryab Department of Education said, "A computer lab and office equipment have been donated to this school, and 16.4 million afghani have been spent on it. A water well has also been dug. In one shift, 260 students study here, and in two shifts, more than 500 students are accommodated."
Some residents of Pashtun Kot district say that previously, due to the lack of a school building, they faced serious challenges, and their children had to travel about three kilometers on foot or by donkey, enduring both heat and cold, to reach school.
They are pleased with the establishment of a school in their area and request the authorities to provide more educational facilities for their children.
Abdul Aziz, a resident of Pashtun Kot district, said, "They used to travel two to three kilometers on foot or by donkey. The distance was long, and the weather was harsh. They would fall ill. We requested to have our own school in the village."
Another resident of Pashtun Kot district, Abdul Rahman, said: "There was no school here before. Our children had to go to other villages to study. It was very difficult for them. Now that a school has been built here, they are relieved."
According to the Faryab Department of Education, in the past two months, the construction of 12 schools has started in the province, and the buildings of four other schools were opened after completion.
