Committee Formed to Address Border Area Challenges, Provide Services

A committee has been established by the Islamic Emirate to address border area challenges along the Durand Line.

Hamdullah Fitrat, the Deputy Spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, said that this committee will provide residents of these areas with access to standard services in various fields.

"This committee will provide residents of the mentioned areas access to standard services in primary services, religious and modern education, health, telecommunications, roads, and drinking water," the deputy spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate told TOLOnews.

Meanwhile, some residents of areas close to the Durand Line and other border regions in the country said that they face many challenges in various fields.

"We face many problems in the Durand Line area, including issues with electricity, health, drinking water, and other areas," Zabihullah, a resident of Gurbuz district in Khost, told TOLOnews.

"We face problems in road infrastructure, a lack of schools, and other issues, and we ask the government to pay attention to these problems," said Mohammadullah Miyakhil, another resident of Gurbuz district.

Some political analysts said that in recent years, residents of areas near the Durand Line and other border regions in the country have been neglected and should be given serious attention.

"People deprived near the Durand Line have been without access to services for the past twenty years or more, and their telecommunications, health, transport, and other problems need to be resolved, and finally, they need to be connected to Afghanistan," said Moeen Gul Samkanai, a political analyst.

"It is good that this commission can find ways to address these problems faced by people near the Durand Line and strive to solve them," said Saleem Paigir, another political analyst.

Earlier, the Deputy Minister of Jirgas and Coordination of Tribal Affairs of the Ministry of Borders and Tribal Affairs told TOLOnews that 60% of border challenges with neighboring countries have been resolved through dialogue, and efforts are ongoing to solve other border challenges as well.
