Nematullah Barakzai, a representative of Kabul Municipality, told TOLOnews that the institution intends to build a large standard recreational area on Maranjan Hill in Kabul.

Barakzai also said that the preliminary work for this large recreational area has started and is expected to take four years.

A representative of Kabul Municipality added: "The main focus here is to have recreational facilities such as various playgrounds, as well as large green areas, a clinic, and a mosque."

Some residents of the capital who have come to Maranjan Hill for recreation welcomed the news of the creation of a large recreational area on this hill.

Zabihullah, a resident of Kabul, said about the construction of the recreational area on Maranjan Hill: "It is very good that a park is being created on Maranjan Hill. This initiative will be very good for families and for recreation."

Dawood, another resident of Kabul, told TOLOnews: "People can benefit from green spaces like Maranjan Hill, and if a recreational area is built, it will be very good for the people to use."

Kabul Municipality has previously renovated several parks and recreational areas in different parts of the capital.
