Residents Criticize Lack of Standard Roads in Kabul’s PD12

Residents of Shina Village in the 12th district of Kabul city have criticized the non-implementation of road construction projects in this area.

According to the residents, although some secondary roads in this village have recently been concreted, they still face serious challenges.

This village is 12 kilometers away from the center of Kabul city and nearly 2,000 families live there.

Zain-ul-Abidin Saeedi, a representative of this village, told TOLOnews: “It is approximately ten or twelve kilometers from the city center, and unfortunately, throughout history, despite its long-standing existence, there has been the least work or attention from previous governments before the Emirate.”

Shakib Ahmad, a resident of Shania village, says: “More than one kilometer of the road has been concreted, which does not solve our main problem. We have many challenges. Additionally, we have many unpaved secondary alleys where there are a lot of problems.”

Meanwhile, Kabul Municipality has stated that, based on balanced development, they have developmental projects planned for all districts, including District 12, for this year.

Nematullah Barakzai, a representative of Kabul Municipality, said: “In District 12, alhamdulillah, very large projects worth hundreds of millions are being implemented, and all of these, inshallah, will be executed. In the coming years, the alleys and roads that have not been implemented there will also be executed.”

Previously, Kabul Municipality had stated that it would implement 165 projects worth 6.4 billion Afghanis in the capital this solar year.
